And SWAT fucks up AGAIN

This time in Minneapolis, MN. I'm so shocked this doesn't happen a lot more often. I don't know why it's so god dammed hard to actually verify an address before your ninja wannabes kick a door in. I don't know why the flying blue fuck anyone would even think about filing a charge against the homeowner. The only charges filed here should be against the head clown of the circus. They violated the property rights of an innocent man.

They're cops goddam it all, they are supposed to be held to a higher standard. And they're failing miserably.

WTF????

I have had just about enough of this kind of bullshit. Since when has common sense left the building? A 10 year old girl brings a piece of steak to school and a small knife to cut it with and gets fucking arrested? What the hell is that? Is she supposed to eat it caveman style? Everyone admits that the girl did nothing wrong, just wanted to cut her steak to eat. Where's the threat? Where's the danger? Where's the Brady Bunch calling for some common sense steak control?

You do not have a right to feel safe. You do have a right to actually be safe. This is, however, an unsafe world thanks to the laws that prevent mass chlorination of the gene pool. If there's no immediate threat to anyone or anything other than the steak, then in no way shape or form should law enforcement be involved in this. You should be able to cut a birthday cake, or a steak. As long as you don't threaten anyone.

I think there should be a loud outcry of protest over this kind of bullshit.

Don't Forget ALL the Heroes

I was cruising around the web as I am prone to do on off days and I was thinking. You know what? We are losing a precious resource of heroism and common sense. It's being ignored but old age is what's taking it away.

Who takes the time to remember and honor the veterans of WW2 anymore? We all should because if they hadn't done their duty, then the west half of this country could be speaking Japanese while the east half spoke German.

As you're out and about and you remember to approach a Vet and thank him or her, don't forget the WW2 era vets. Take the time to talk with them and benefit from their wisdom and memories. It will be time well spent and their efforts kept us free from the tyranny that was Japan and Germany of the day.

If you are or know a WW2 vet, know that I salute you. Thank You for what you gave to keep this free country free. Know also that I honor your dead. I am proud of each and every one of you.

I want to hit on this again

A couple of weeks ago, I posted on an article that I found at Front Sight, Press about tactics. I thought it was a dandy article but since then, I've been looking around the web a bit and I have noticed that most of the articles on defensive shooting are talking about what to do when you get confronted by a goblin. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but you're not always alone are you bucky? I'm not. I have my own thing I want to bring out here.

What do you do when you're with your loved one(s) when you're confronted by a goblin?

If you're me, then my first priority is to get my girlfriend to safety. In my own mind, if I have to sacrifice my life to do this, I will. Her safety comes first. Now when I'm alone, the only one dying is the goblin, no doubt about that, but I put my girlfriend above me on the must survive list. I'm a sheepdog that way.

So, let me ask a question or 2 here. When was the last time you took your girlfriend or wife or whatever, to the range with you? What? She's never heard your gun fire? Bad, bad shooter, bad, no bone. Take your significant other (S/O) to the range with you. Even if said S/O doesn't shoot, they should watch you shoot and most importantly, they should experience your gun firing. Why, you ask? Simple. What was your first reaction to hearing a gun fired? Think about it. Now admit it, you froze. You did didn't you? You bet you did, and you don't want your S/O to freeze when the black flag goes up. So take your S/O with you and have her nearby while you shoot so that he/she is used to the sound of your gun.

Next, now that she's familiar with gunfire and doesn't freeze when a gun goes off in close proximity, you have to teach her about the tactics that you intend to employ. She needs to know where you're going to go. You don't want to move and run over her, tripping yourself up, nor do you want her to just stand there while you're putting distance between you and the goblin. You need to teach her how you're going to move so that she can either...move with you or move in an opposite direction possibly distracting the goblin for you. Whatever you decide to do, you need to do it in advance so that you have some kind of a plan before the stuff hits the fan. If you have kids, the whole picture changes, she needs to get those kids the hell out of there and fast. You become the delaying action that keeps the scum off your family so they can escape to safety.

Eventually, you may want to teach her to shoot and get her her own CPL so that she can also engage the goblin. That may be down the road some, but it would be nice if eventually, if she's the "I won't leave your side" type, she can handle your gun if you go down. I'd rather that mine just ran and kept running until the shooting stops then call 911 but your mileage may vary.

Any way you choose to go, your S/O must know to stay calm. What to do and where to go. Most importantly, don't freeze on the first shot, just do what you need to do to be safe. We carry to protect ourselves and our families. While you're training to protect you, you need to train to protect them as well.

I Just HAVE to do This

I just saw an article over at KABA which I feel compelled to comment on just because there is one particular part of it that screams for me to say this, but I'll get to that in just a second. The subject of the article is an off duty cop that got drunk, drove and killed some people in the process.

I like law enforcement officers generally. During my 12 year EMS career, I hid behind a bunch of them. Most are professional enough but still quite human. Some, like the idiot in this article seem to have forgotten that their job requires them to behave to a higher standard. As a law enforcement officer, you need to set the standard for behavior for the community. Act the way you would prefer the community to act. I would bet you'd never catch the LawDog being stupid like this, he helps set the standard.

OK, here we go:

Police said Thursday an off-duty Chicago police officer has been charged in connection with a crash that killed two men in their early 20s. According to a Chicago police department statement, John Ardelean, 33, was charged with one count of DUI and driving left of center stemming from the crash that occurred in the 2900 block of North Damen Avenue at approximately 3 a.m.

Wait, wait, wait....he got charged with driving left of center? Shit...you could charge the whole state with that.

I just saw this posted over at Blackfive and it made my heart swell with pride. A group of artists have gotten together and made a CD for the troops over in the sandbox. What makes this extra cool is that if you're over there and you have a valid military ID card, the CD is free for you.

That just rocks! And just in time for Christmas, glorious.

Oh, here's something to think about

Again from Syd over at Front Sight, Press is a nice article on a recent shooting at a highway rest stop. These are places where you really need to crank up your situational awareness. You just never know when some scumbag is going to corner you. There's all kinds of crazies out there and you do not want to be caught unarmed or unaware.

There's lots of great tips in this little missive and you should take all of them to heart. Try to remember some of the most important little rules when traveling our nation's highways.

1. Route yourself around GFW states like Illinois and Wisconsin. If they won't let you carry, don't go there.

2. Keep your head on a swivel. There is no excuse for someone sneaking up on you.

3. Practice, Practice, Practice. Have someone behind you screaming in your ear. Shoot on the move. Practice rapid reloads. The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in combat. Ratchet up the stress on your practice time.

4. Take the time to sit with your loved ones and explain to them precisely what you want them to do if the black flag goes up. In all of the writings I have seen on defensive shootings, I very rarely see any that address this. Your loved ones have to know what to do if you get encountered by a bad situation. You need to know where they're going to go and they need to know where you want them to go. That is for everyone's safety. Your and theirs. In that situation, you're drawing your weapon to protect your loved ones, make sure they know what to do also.

Test Post

I'm going to make this a test post to check a theory that I came up with yesterday concerning a 4 post minimum before you can get your stuff to appear on the aggregator at the Anti PC League. If you'll notice, I made my first post of the day about 2 hours ago and it still hasn't popped up over there so I'm thinking you have to have 4 up on the day to appear.

It didn't use to be that way. I may re-think this association.

BATFE's new Stormtrooper

Apparently the BATFE has a new leader and since Ted (Chappaquiddick Killer) Kennedy likes him, I must come forth to despise him. The US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts and a lifelong resident of that same state huh? Wonderful. So, when is he going to resign his position as US Attorney so he can take over the SS,,,I mean BATFE? You surely don't think it's right for him to do both do you? Wouldn't there be some potential conflict of interest there?

I must have missed that, where did you get those statistics again? I believe you'll find them not quite true. By the way, how many violent crimes were stopped by the presence of an armed citizen?

Just last week, the International Association of Chiefs of Police – IACP – took a dramatic stand against the escalating gun violence in our communities – releasing a comprehensive report with 39 key recommendations to reduce gun violence. The Chiefs’ compelling report and specific recommendations are a clear call to action. Without further delay, Congress and the Administration need to do our part by enacting concrete reforms that will reduce crime and protect the safety of police officers and all Americans. We all know what needs to be done and it’s a scandal that we have done so little for so long.

We could do something to prosecute drunk drivers that kill people too. I don't think there's a statute of limitations on murder Mr. Kennedy. Let's take a look at these reforms shall we? Let's take a close look at the BS the leftards are spouting.


We need to close the gun show loophole once and for all.

What loophole is this? Licensed dealer to citizen is already taken care of.

We need to renew the assault weapons ban.

To do what? The last one did nothing more than ban cosmetics. It did nothing to reduce crime. Why do you idiots always need another law when the ones we already have aren't enforced?

We need to pass Senator Feinstein’s bill for stricter requirements on the sale of extremely dangerous fifty-caliber sniper rifles.

Yeah, so much more dangerous than anything else that you can see them being used in most of the really major crimes already because every criminal wants to try to lug a 40+ pound almost 5 foot long weapon stealthily into a spot with which to rob Mr and Mrs Jones.

We need to amend federal law to ensure that all cop killer bullets are banned.

Could we possibly get a few more buzz words into this article? Exactly which bullets are you referring to? A FMJ 30.06 round will kill a cop, or anyone else it hits. So will my .45 with a head shot. Which bullets are you trying to ban? Oh wait, you're a Democrat, the answer is all of them.

We need to do more to see that law enforcement has access to the newest and most effective crime-solving technologies – like microstamping.

Which I believe has already been shown to be of little use, horrendously expensive and unreliable.

The IACP’s impressive work in producing this ground-breaking report should not go ignored. I’m hopeful that we can work together, across party lines, to reduce gun violence, solve gun crimes, protect our police officers and do all that we can to make our communities safer. Perhaps our dialogue today will be one positive step forward in that direction.

The dialoge that will make our police officers and communities safer has already been written. In case you forgot it says....

I have been only a small voice in the ever growing mob that understands that laws that restrict or abolish the right of a law abiding citizen to carry a weapon into a particular place just make safe working environments for criminals. Here we go again, in Florida, where a teacher was shot outside a school in what appears to be an attempted armed robbery.

People, take a look at all of the mass shootings in the last 10 years or so. You know what all of them have in common? They all took place in a "gun free zone". Yep, all those laws restricting gun carry sure do help don't they? ** cue cricket chirps**

Well, don't they?

Washington D.C. Law abiding citizens can't have guns. They are the murder capital of the U.S. Violent crime is skyrocketing.

Britan, gun ban. Parents are dressing their children in Kevlar School uniforms. Yep, look like it's working just fine. Violent crime is on the rise.

Australia, gun ban. Violent crime is skyrocketing.

Everywhere that guns have been outlawed, the outlaws have guns and are actively preying on the unarmed. This has to stop.

Remember the Tacoma Mall shooting of two years ago? How about Salt Lake City's Trolley Square shooting in February? Certainly nobody can claim ignorance of April's Virginia Tech massacre, or a string of public and private school shootings that dates back more than a dozen years.

The common denominator in every one of these deplorable crimes is that all of them happened in gun-free zones.

When was the last time you heard of a mass shooting at a gun store or a gun show, both places where firearms outnumber the people, and where there are doubtless a majority of armed citizens present?

Has anyone ever heard of a massacre at a gun range, where it is guaranteed everyone has a loaded firearm?

Doesn't that make sense to you? Elections are coming, don't you think it's time to vote out the idiots that pass these laws? We've given them a fair chance, it just doesn't work.

Here in Michigan, there's a group called the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners and they actually have a business card on their website that you can hand to managers at businesses that don't allow guns informing them of why you are taking your business to a competitor that is 2nd Amendment friendly. We should all do this, everyday, everywhere. Start telling these people that we are all a hell of a lot safer when law abiding citizens carry. Don't forget to speak out when some gooney law enforcement person makes a dim witted comment about how "the officers never know who is in the car they pull over and they wouldn't be safe if Joe Average might have a gun". What a crock, they don't know who they're pulling over now. Joe Average is NOT going to turn into a raving felonious lunatic just because he's carrying a legal concealed pistol you moron.

The misguided misanthropes who foster gun-free zones have a paranoid distrust of their fellow citizens that can only be a severe manifestation of social bigotry.

They dislike firearms and are terrified of the people who own them - and for all the wrong reasons. Armed, law-abiding citizens - especially those who have gone through the hoops of obtaining carry licenses - are statistically the least likely to ever break a law.

Yet, all data to the contrary, these gun control fanatics hold fast to the perpetuation of gun-free zones as a symbol, when it is clear that such places are nothing more than risk-free environments for criminals and lunatics.

Have you ever seen anything as true as this is? Yet the gun banners are so busy distorting the truth and adding 19 year olds in with the "dead child" statistics that they can't be bothered to actually look at the real truth. No gun ban has ever stopped a criminal from robbing and shooting someone. They're criminals asshole, criminals don't obey the law to begin with, what the hell makes you think they'll pay attention to one more?

Look, this is America. This nation was founded by armed citizens. Stop trying to remove our heritage. Stop trying to abrogate our rights. Stop being the domestic enemy I swore to protect the constitution from.

I'm beginning to wonder

I joined the Anti PC League quite some time back and usually, when I make a new post, within a few minutes, it pops up over there for everyone else to enjoy. Quite frankly, I have a feeling that that may be the source of a lot of my views.

Over the last 3 months or so, I have started to notice that it has become very hit and miss over there. Sometimes, my posts pop up fairly promptly. Sometimes, they never appear at all. I'm starting to think that they may not love me anymore, or that they only love me part time (sounds like my ex girlfriend) and I'm not sure how to take that.

I think I'll give it a bit of time and see if things smooth out.

Everything I have posted today just popped up. Now I wonder if maybe one needs to post "X" number of things in a day to make the aggregator.

New Stuff

Syd is finally back at it over at Front Sight, Press and believe me, I missed him. He comes back with a bunch of great stuff as usual, but this article by John Farnam caught my eye.

I don't carry a 5 shot snubby, being on the well........rotund side, I carry a Springfield Armory 1911 A1 Mil-Spec 5". That isn't to say that those that carry a snubby are wrong or silly, just that right now, I carry a full size 1911. Many of you, reading this now (at least, I hope there are many of you) may well carry a snubby and if so, rather that than nothing.

Many of you may not have thought too much about tactics with your snubby though. This article addresses that pretty nicely and I think it's damn important to go check it out. Farnam is pretty smart ya know.

Strange

I made a comment yesterday about how my TTLB ecosystem ranking slipped drastically. I was joking about it because I did this silly thing that said my blog has a college post grad reading level. Now I don't think that has anything to do with it in reality and I also don't think you have to be quite that good a reader for the drivel that I post anyway. But I digress, I was reading my pet blogs today and I noticed that ALL of them are at a lower ranking than they used to be, even the lovely and talented Tam's rating has slipped.

I wonder if something screwy is happening over at TTLB that is messing our rankings up?

I'm sure everyone is well aware of the latest trials and tribulations of Duane "Dog" Chapman of Dog the Bounty Hunter fame. With a bit of fame and fortune must come the knowledge that everything you do and say will be scrutinized by the vultures of the press. Come on now Dog, you have to have been aware of that at your age. If you weren't then your wife Beth is certainly street smart enough that she should have warned you.

I am NOT going to defend Mr. Chapman in this. Nope, he should have known better or Beth should have smacked him in the head with a big steaming cup of STFU. What I am going to do is to point out the hypocrisy that is about to destroy a very popular A&E show while others get rich.

Dog said it in a private phone call that his son figured he could use to both trash Duane's reputation and possibly make a buck. That phone call is going to ruin Duane forever. In his apology he stated that he would never be forgiven for this. You're right Dog, your goose is cooked.

I want to ask why it's so wrong that Duane "Dog" Chapman said this in a private phone call yet at the same time, an untold number of Rap and Urban "singer/songwriters" and some "comedians" are using the same word publicly and not only is no one going absolutely ape shit crazy about it, but these people are actually making money from it thereby encouraging more of the same down the road? What's the deal with the double standard here? If this word is so heinous when uttered by a white man, then why is it not equally heinous when uttered by anyone else regardless of heritage?

If the word is so wrong, why has it not been abolished by the black community or the whole damn planet as a whole? I'm afraid that I just don't get it. If some well known black rap artist or comedian went to downtown Detroit or Chicago or some other urban area and said something like "hey niggas, get a grip on reality" most would laugh or applaud and maybe take some action. If I, as a white guy did it, I'd need to use the 1911 that I carry and use it well against multiple targets. So why the double standard? Why is it funny or even OK if one person says it, but so totally wrong if someone else does?

If the use of this word is so wrong, then let's just stop using it. If you can't bring yourself to do that, then stop being pissed off when someone else does.

Well, that sucks

I know it was going to happen eventually anyway, but I'm a bit behind in the news here at Warthog Control and I just found out that General Paul Tibbets passed away Thursday. I know that old age will take all of us eventually, but I will still mourn and honor the passing of a great man in history. Please join me in lifting a glass to honor this great man's life.

Some More on On Campus Concealed Carry

I saw this article at the Buckeye Firearms Association's website and I had no idea there was a student group out there advocating student concealed carry on college campuses.

I think it's a grand idea and the only ones that will bitch about it are the same ones that will cry "why didn't you do something to prevent this?" when their own little angel gets killed at school. The only appropriate answer would be, " We tried, YOU stopped us".

Empty Holster Protest

I am getting on the bandwagon with this. An empty holster protest will be held at colleges all over the place later this month to protest gun free (except for homicidal maniacs) campuses. Here's the article.

The tension has been building in the two weeks since the city turned away members of the Silent Drill Platoon, and it boiled over Monday afternoon at a meeting of the San Francisco Film Commission. The U.S. Marine Silent Drill Platoon performed Monday morning in New York’s Times Square. They filmed part of a recruitment commercial through the start of the morning rush hour — something they could not do in San Francisco on the anniversary of 9/11. “It’s insulting, it’s demeaning. This woman is going to insult these young heroes by just arbitrarily saying, ‘no, you’re not going to film any Marines on California Street,” said Captain Greg Corrales of the SFPD Traffic Bureau.

Captain Greg Corrales commands the police traffic bureau that works with crews shooting commercials, TV shows and movies in the city. He’s also a Marine veteran and his son is serving his third tour of duty in Iraq. He says Film Commission Executive Director Stefanie Coyote would only allow the Marine’s production crew to film on California Street if there were no Marines in the picture. They wound up filming the empty street and will have to superimpose the Marines later.

“Ms. Coyote’s politics blinded her to her duty as the director of the Film Commission and as a responsible citizen,” said Captain Corrales.

Captain Corrales and several other Marine veterans came to the Film Commission Monday afternoon. They see this as just the latest insult along with the city blocking the USS Iowa from docking here, banning the junior ROTC from high schools, and trying to ban the yearly Blue Angels air show.

“This — a slap in the face of every veteran and every parent of men and women who are doing their duty — is shameful,” said Captain Corrales.

The Marines we spoke with also make the point that the city allows street demonstrations, anti-war protests and other events which snarl traffic, such as Critical Mass. They still don’t understand why the Marines got turned away.

Many of you know that I'm currently studying to become a Pharmacy Technician. We have been studying the Reproductive system this week so I have some NOT so Fun Facts to share with you.

NOT so Fun Facts

I know people read this, so I thought I might put something here that maybe you can use.

Did You Know:

By age 50, 80% of US women will have or will have had a form of HPV? Genital warts kiddies. Approximetly 50% of all sexually active adolescents and young women will aquire HPV infection within the first 5 years of initiating intercourse. Studies suggest that 75% of all new infections occur among men and women between the ages of 15 and 24. Molecular studies have identified HPV DNA in 99.7% of cervical cancers. HPV usually infects areas outside the protection of a condom so condoms will NOT protect you.

Syphillis:

People can have first stage syphillis and not show symptoms. Second stage syphillis looks a lot like the flu and the symptoms go away in 2-6 weeks. 3rd stage syphillis has no symptoms and you can't pass it on after the first year except to a fetus. Final stage syphillis leads to brain damage and death and 50% of the people who enter this stage die. It's usually easily treated with Penicillin.

Chlamydia:

The most frequent STD in North America. 10% of all college students are infected. If you have burning urination or any painful discharge you should be checked for this. It is treated with repeated doses of Erythromycin and Tetracycline.

Gonorrhea:

Usually strikes the vagina, penis, rectum mouth and throat. The symptoms are burning pain or itching on urination, a discharge from the penis that is clear but changes to a thick milky discharge. Females usually show no symptoms but may develop a greenish-yellow discharge from the cervix or abdominal pain. This is treated with high dose penicillin or tetracycline.

Herpes:

Is a chronic viral infection that cannot be cured. Only it's symptoms are controlled. In females, fluid filled vesicles form on the cervix, labia, vulva, or perianal skin. On males, the vesicles form on the glans penis, the foreskin or the shaft. These vesicles usually take 3-7 days to erupt. This disease CAN be passed even during times when you are not showing symptoms or lesions. It is usually treated with medications like Valacyclovir (Valtrex) or acyclovir.

Saw this on Yahoo news just a couple minutes ago. Delaware, isn't that a non issue state? Gun free and all. Oh so safe, until this morning. Gun free zones just don't work.

A bill has been introduced in Lansing that will permit schools to grant permission to trained and qualified teachers to carry concealed weapons in schools. Today's Kalamazoo Gazette has the story.

The opposition you will see comes from the same leftards that are going to scream "Why wasn't something done to prevent this?" when or --- forbid if something happens here. You see the same old leftard responses about the wild west and all of that nonsense.

Look kiddies, Muslim Terrorists used to shoot up schools in Israel. You know what stopped that? The Israelis armed their teachers.....with automatic weapons. We're talking about concealed handguns here. There's some nonsense in here about "well if one of the kids gets a hold of a gun..." How the hell is that going to happen if said gun is safely carried on the teacher's hip?

Stop screwing around and get the teachers armed. For that matter, let's go ahead and abolish ALL of the gun free zones in Michigan. There's a bill somewhere in committee for that too.

Many bloggers that I read regularly say that a blogger should post something everyday if he/she wishes to maintain readers. I love knowing that there are people out there that come to look at this little corner of the web, just to see if there's anything new on it. You have no idea how much that touches me.

I am going to apologize to you all for not blogging regularly. I have gone back to school to become a pharmacy technician. I know right now that my current job is going to end in November, I just had a breakup with a woman that I would have taken a bullet for and I still pine for her. Life is just not going well for me and I just can't find anything that motivates me to blog.

Normally, I avoid personal stuff here, right now, I think that my few loyal readers deserve an explanation of why warthog's not writing. I'll get back to normal, but it will take me some time. Forgive me and bear with me.

Defensive Video

I watched a video at Front Sight, Press. It's a video on dealing with an immediate confrontation. I'm going to tear it apart as I watch it so this might not be real smooth, but it's play by play.

The theory of creating distance is pretty common sense. The way he shows it would take a bit of practice to avoid tripping all over yourself and the theory he espouses about the amount of distance you gain is predicated on your attacker not moving also, Which I think is unrealistic.

His 40 degree to the rear movement is assuming you can get your gun out of the holster before you move. Again, not realistic. Crosstepping? Ok, you've practised it for years, I haven't, it's not gonna do me much good if the problem occurs while I'm going to practice. Switch back to cover the other 45 degree angle? While in combat? Taken by surprise? Not thinking about it? Yeah right, can you say trip all over both your left feet? Moving back at a 45 degree angle gets you out of the killzone 50% faster than moving straight back or laterally....Providing your attacker 1. Hasn't jumped all over you and is pinning you down, 2. That your attacker doesn't have a friend or friends behind you, 3. That your attacker stands still while you move. What about looking for some cover?

I think this guy tries too hard to find the right wording for his presentation. He seems to be very careful with how he words or phrases stuff. I would expect that from a person who is either unused to or greatly dislikes public speaking.

I admit, I like the distraction idea. Take full advantage of normal human reactions.There's that damn crosstep again. He's trying to do too much. Some idiot just jumped out of the shadows at you. Under stress, you're going to lose all your fine motor skills and coordination. You need something simpler. The music is a bit annoying too.

I think he's trying to incorporate too much stuff into this. Some good ideas, the distraction is great as is the need to get away from the attacker. The style of movement should be your discretion though. The cross step just assumes you don't trip all over yourself and that your attacker stays still.

I was reading Kim Du Toit and found this post. A typically outstanding post by Kim, but what it says is so important and sadly, I fear that the people that live here have forgotten it. Go read and think about it...hard. I was in the Navy in the 80's, I saw alot of third world. We have it so good here it's just beyond description. I have three questions for those of you who would like to ban guns (though why you would be reading this I have no idea; my website must give you seizures).

You have to answer all three, in a logical and consistent manner; without emotional justification, circular logic, evasions, appeals to authority, statistics (most of the ones you would be quoting are false anyway, and I can prove it to you if you like), appeals to motive, or any other logical fallacy:

1. You say you feel safer knowing that guns are banned; why is that?
   
   
2. Do you recognize that when guns are banned, the only people carrying guns will be criminals (who ignore such bans because they are criminals. no law will stop criminals from carrying guns); and as such you are saying you're fine with criminals having guns but not law abiding citizens?
   
   
3. Given this, do you believe that the mere possession of a gun turns a law abiding citizen into a criminal menace?

Ballistic Gelatin Testing

I saw an article while I was reading at Front Sight, Press. I would like you to read it, but please do so with an open mind. I'm going to throw out some opinion here that is in disagreement with the article. This is not intended in any way, shape or form to start any kind of a flame war. It's my opinion based on 12 yrs as a Paramedic with the training that goes into Anatomy.

Ballistic Gel is a commonly used medium to test the performance of a bullet when striking something. It works pretty well because it allows you to see the path of the bullet and to see the expansion. Many people out there tout this type of testing as "gospel" when they tell you about how great their particular "magic" bullet is in taking down goblins.

It is a possible indicator, yes, I will give you that. Please note that I said possible indicator. It's not gospel as many would have you believe. They want to tell you that because of the gel testing, they know that their bullet will expand to "X" when it strike a human target. Maybe it will, maybe it won't and you won't know if it will or not until you (god forbid) drill a human in the chest with one.

The next time you take a shower, or bath if you prefer, please pay close attention when you wash your chest. You will feel the sternum, which is a very dense bone in the center of the rib cage. It's anywhere from 12 to 14 inches long, depending on your body structure, and probably an inch or so wide. It takes a hell of alot of force to fracture a sternum. Now feel around a bit more, you'll find your ribs. They really aren't very far apart are they? The parts you can't feel are inside, the vital life sustaining organs. Some muscle, some blood, some air.

Ballistic gelatin takes none of this into account. In the article, they covered the gel with 4 layers of denim. I live in Michigan, even in January, I don't see people wearing 4 layers of denim. They simulated a car door, that's nice, but how many times does a car door try to mug you on the sidewalk? I want to tell you something, I'll bet you $5 (figuratively speaking) that if you pop someone in the chest with a .45 ACP 230 gr. Hydra Shok round, you're going to hit bone, and the goblin is going down. Please keep in mind that I shoot the Springfield 1911 exclusively but I do have some experience with other weapons. You may also hit air pockets and areas that have blood. You'll hit bone and dense muscle tissue. I say again that ballistic gel takes none of this into consideration. Why do you think the military shoots animals for ballistic testing? Because, unlike what some of these people want you to think, ballistic gelatin does not accurately simulate what happens when you place hits on muscle, blood, air and bone, like what happens when you have to shoot a human.

I'm just saying that one needs an open mind when discussing bullet performance. One needs to take gel testing with a grain of salt. Yes, it does indicate what a bullet might do, but only an autopsy will tell you what the bullet actually did and that is likely to vary from incident to incident.

I also want to throw in here one other thing to remember. The .45 ACP was designed to take people down using 230 gr BALL not the hollowpoints available today. That, in a nutshell, is why I personally feel that the .45 ACP is the planet's premier handgun based combat round. This is my personal opinion.

Information

Information is one of the most critical things that one can possess be it in the military, to have information regarding one's enemies or in real life, to have the right information to make a decision.

Immigration

I want to state openly here, that I am not anti-immigrant. This nation was founded by immigrants. If you would like to become an immigrant, please do. Just follow the process that is outlined in our laws. There, my friends, is the issue. I am anti illegal immigration. I was reading Mrs. Du Toit and she has an outstanding post up regarding illegal immigration, I think it would be well worth your time to go and read it.

Currently, congress is considering measures to do something about illegal immigrants who are flooding into our country. I'm going to be brutally honest here...They're eating up huge amounts of welfare. They're eating up jobs. They're eating up housing. Many of them are contributing to rising crime rates. Remember, I'm addressing illegal immigrants here. The ones that enter through the legal means are trying to build a new life and participating in our society and culture, the illegals aren't. They want to get a job where they won't be taxed and send that money back to their homeland so that more of their families can come over and sponge, or they intend to return and live a life of luxury from the money they sent back.

The government solutions include an amnesty for illegals. Look it over, that's what it is, plain and simple. These people will not be punished in any way shape or form for breaking US immigration laws. First, I urge you to hit my congresscritter finder on the sidebar, and voice your displeasure over this directly to your elected officials. Secondly, I urge you to urge them to take a real stand on the issue. We need secure borders. We need jobs. I said before that that non sense about illegal immigrants doing jobs that Americans won't do is just that, non sense, if the American gets hungry enough, he/she by god will do that job. Nutbags with video

I have always been a huge fan of the space program. As a child with a very active imagination, the Apollo missions really captured my attention. Now this here bunch of nutbags is claiming that they have video which shows an alien spaceship parked or possibly crashed on the moon.

Having watched the video, here, I wanna shoot a couple holes in the theory. First off, the video supposedly came from Apollo 20...that mission was canceled. There were no Apollo missions after Apollo 17 (source). Second, the captions on the video are mis spelled, bad form what? Third, according to those captions, of which you can hear no voices, only static and badly timed chirps, the Lunar Module is communicating with Vandenberg, which is an Air Force Base. Mission control for space missions, even today, is Houston. They may occasionally speak to the Kennedy Spaceflight Center, but Mission control is in Houston, Texas. Third, the video makes on believe that the Lunar Module is orbiting this "spacecraft". Most of the moon landings were made under computer control. The fuel was very limited so no one would have been orbiting anything.

So, as the non expert that I am, based on what I know due to a lifelong love of all things spaceflight, I say this little video is a really sad hoax and some dipwad bought it hook, line and sinker.

In fact...you may want to know that this particular entry is being written on my desktop, which I bought back in 1999 and I have never had any issues with it. Breeding a culture of fear

I was reading at FARK and found this brilliant article by Mark Steyn. I would encourage you to go and read it, it's very well written and correct.

We no longer teach anything but fear in our modern universities. There's no actual discussion of any issue or subject, just an indoctrination as to what academia feels is the way of things. We have no best thinkers because they are being culled out of the herd. We need to find a way to right that ship or our future is in deep peril.

Playoff Hockey

I want to take a break from political stuff and talk about playoff hockey. This is my favorite time of the year. I love hockey all the time, but playoff hockey is just special.

I'll start with my favorite NHL team, the Dallas Stars. I want to start this by telling all the Turco haters out there to just go suck an egg. If the Stars check out in the first round this year, you can't blame Turco. Not this time. He's delivered. His team hasn't delivered the goals, plain and simple. Turco has kept them in every game so far including 3 shutouts and hasn't lost by more than a goal yet. He forced game 7 tonight with a shutout. If they don't advance, point at the rest of the team this time, it's not Turco's fault and I don't want to hear any shit.

Now I'll move on to my local team, the Kalamazoo Wings in the United Hockey League. They took out a tough Flint Generals team tonight to move to the conference championship game against an extremely tough Muskegon Fury team. Congratulations to the Kalamazoo Wings and my best wishes for them to win the conference and proceed to the UHL title series.

It's just not worth chewing through the straps. So many lib-tards just want to take my guns away. Not a damn one of them will ever listen to reason, they're obsessed with their own Utopian vision. Anyone that is willing to actually look at the facts knows that gun bans don't work, they never have and they never will. How well does the drug ban work? How well did prohibition work? And it's so depressing listening to the bleating as they try to use the pain and blood of the innocent to get their way all the while forgetting that their plans, their gun control, was a contributing factor in the whole mess. Go ahead and dance you bastards, dance in the blood of the innocent. You might as well have some blood on your shoes to match the blood on your hands. YOUR disarming of these people caused the high death toll. YOU made them a group of unarmed victims gathered in a shooting gallery waiting for a psycho to come.

Then we move to the bleating of the traitors in congress. Telling anyone who will listen that the war is already lost. I thought treason was a death penalty offense? Of course you know damn well that charges will never even be brought. Damn shame too, that's a group hanging I'd like to attend. The PC (spit, spit) cocksuckers are too busy grilling the AG over firing a couple federal judges. Never mind the fact that the Klinton administration fired ALL of them, but that's OK because "Saint Bill" did it. But you let the Bush administration do it and OH MY GOD! The sky is falling. Two faced hypocrites.

And speaking of hypocrites, how about Rosie O'Doughnuts bleating her conspiracy crap without a shred of reason or evidence? Remember this is the same useless sack of shit that quit her job advertising for K Mart because they sold guns, but owns a gun and has an armed bodyguard. Oh it's ok for me, but you common people just can't have one. Fuck off fat swine.

I love my country, I really do. I am heartily sick of some of the scumbags that live here though. What makes it even sadder is that alot of those scumbags inhabit government. It's time for a change, but a change to what? What makes anyone think that the next bunch will be any better than the current infestation? Well, the anti gun screeching has begun. Didn't take long did it? What shall we do? Keep hammering the bastards with the facts and the sad but true fact is...the only kind of gun control that works is the kind that comes with enough practice to be able to land consistent hits on moving targets. If you have a family member that attends VT, then my advice to you is to withdraw that student immediately and DEMAND a refund of your tuition. Until they change the rules to allow appropriately licensed people to carry their firearms with them, then fuck 'em. We're outta here prick. Communicate your desire for change by not letting them have your money.

For that matter, if you lost someone in this shameful debacle...First off, my heart goes out to you and I grieve for your loss...now sue the pricks for not letting the students protect themselves. I'd try negligent manslaughter...the school was negligent for not allowing properly licensed and armed students to protect themselves as they are allowed to under VA law and the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.

Students Shot in Classroom, Dorm at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. (April 16) — One person was killed and seven or eight more were shot in a dorm and in a classroom on the Virginia Tech campus Monday before police arrested a suspected gunman, officials told The Associated Press.

Police confirmed they had a suspect in custody, the university said on its Web site.

On the Web site, Tech confirmed the shooting at opposite ends of the 2,600-acre campus at West Ambler Johnston, a residence hall, and reported “multiple victims” at Norris Hall, an engineering building.

The university said in a news release there were multiple victims. Government officials with knowledge of the case said there were seven to eight other “casualties.”

Students were asked to stay in their homes away from windows.

“There’s just a lot of commotion. It’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on,” said student Jason Anthony Smith, 19, who lives in the building where shooting took place.

The shooting was reported at West Ambler Johnston Hall.

Officials ordered the campus closed, the second time in less than a year the 26,000-student campus was shut because of a shooting.

But, but .... guns aren't allowed on campus for the sake of student safety.

I would bet that there are those among you that wonder why I haven't chimed in on this. Reason number 1...I just don't care. From what little I heard of his show, he was a big mouthed idiot anyway. I really think the "shock jock" thing has run it's course.

I personally have always found that genre of music to be hateful, sexist, racist, violent and obscene. Lacking talent is just icing on the cake.
