Civil War?

So, I've been wondering about all of the comparisons between Obama and Lincoln. My first thought was that unlike Lincoln, I would prefer to live through my term in office, but Pat Dollard thinks there could be something a bit more sinister at work here.

I'm not real big on conspiracy theories but I do notice that there may be something to this. Look at the number of states that are asserting their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. Were they doing that during the last 8 years? Not that I heard about, this has been developed since the Obamessiah took office.

Now, where I'm going with this is...

What do we do about it? Again, I find myself asking if we should be doing more to organize a united front. We still don't have any National leadership that will step up and say the place is here, the time is now. Don't get me wrong here, I don't think said leadership should come out publicly, to do so would just paint targets on their foreheads, but something quiet could be done. There's a bunch of like minded bloggers out there that are probably wondering the same thing.

Cool History

I was doing my regular reading of the blogs on my blog roll when I spotted this on the US Naval Institute blog. A place where WWII history buffs can go read actual Submarine Patrol Reports. I am very happy that valuable documents like this have been preserved.

UPDATES

Oh, I have updates galore. I found a bunch of new places to visit and I've been enjoying them so much that I think I should let you in on some of them too. I think you probably by now, have noticed that I separated out my favorite female gun bloggers. I did that because they have stuff to say that has a bit different focus and is well worth reading. The fact that they're also just plain beautiful women also plays a role. I love beautiful, intelligent and armed women.

I think everyone that visits here also knows I'm very interested in Military affairs, especially Naval matters and over the next few days, I am probably going to separate out the Navy oriented blogs as well.

So, a little "spring cleaning" and organizing going on here at the Wrants. Hopefully, you all like it and hopefully, you'll keep coming back, in the meantime, go through the blog rolls, I try to keep everything updated and bring in fresh interesting reading when I find it.

3 Percenter Explained

I know that some have seen the term thrown around out there. Here's the explanation. This is a dangerous time in the history of our country. The socialists are in power and supported by the weak kneed media. Everywhere you turn, the media openly fellates the Obamessiah. He'll never be able to quit smoking because of it.

More and more will they attempt to render the entire Constitution meaningless. There's even a measure right now to restrict the First Amendment. The measure they call the "fairness doctrine". Yeah, real fair that is, silence those that openly disagree with you.

It's only a matter of time before they go after the Second Amendment as well. Get active now! Start writing the socialists and reminding them that the Constitution is the ultimate law of the land and we will defend it. Do something now so you don't have to remedy the chafing of your chains later.

Well, Now What?

Obviously, what protest was made to stop porkulus had no effect. We can expect Comrade President Obama to sign it today and enslave many generations to the task of paying it off. This all makes me wonder what we do now?

Are there too many traitors in congress to stop? Are there too few remaining patriots to put up a meaningful stand at the ballot box? Is no one listening when we employ the soapbox?

You do know that the 2nd Amendment is squarely in the crosshairs of the communists in congress don't you? What will we do when they come? Where will we go? Will we all band together and fight as one cohesive group? Or will we have to fight as individuals because we lack leadership?

I have so many questions and damn few answers and I admit that. I will say this though, I think the time to find some answers to these questions is past us. We had better stop talking and start doing.

The "Only Ones" Ride Again

Found on Fark.com

WILLIAMSPORT -- A Williamsport police officer accidentally shot himself in the left hand Tuesday after returning from firearms qualifying and training. Patrolman Sidney Gable was taken to Williamsport Hospital after the shooting in the basement of City Hall about 3:20 p.m. today.

Other officers were in the area but not injured and administered first aid, Capt. Raymond O. Kontz III said.

Kontz said Initial reports are that Gable was cleaning the .45-caliber service revolver when it discharged. Protocol calls for weapons to be unloaded before cleaning begins, he said. An investigation continues.

Gable was expected to spend the night in the hospital, police

I'm really sorry, but I need to go laugh now. We get this after gun banner groups piss moan and whine about how much more qualified the police are to carry a weapon than a citizen.

This is just INSANE

I think I need to call for another letter writing campaign. Why? Take a look at this absolute slap in the face to all property owners in the country.

The lawyers who brought this suit should be disbarred.

The judge that is allowing this travesty to be heard should be hung.

Look at those numbers people. The Obamessiah says he's going to create 3 million jobs, then his policies let in 15 million illegal aliens and we wind up losing 12 million jobs. We can't afford to just sit back and do nothing anymore. We have to make our voices heard.

Thank You Again

It turns out that almost 300 people turned out to confront the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners on their agenda. The message was received loudly and clearly.

Thank You All.

Michael Phelps

I had a ton of respect for this guy after Beijing. 8 Gold medals and was it 6 or 7 world records? Not many mortals can do that.

Today, I have a lot more respect for him as he has become a better role model than he was before. I'm not talking about the possibility that he smoked some pot at a party. I'm talking about the fact that he manned up, admitted his error and said he deserves his punishment.

The way kids are always trying to find something or someone else to blame stuff on, this struck me as a breath of fresh air. Finally, someone to show that it's OK to take responsibility for one's actions. To publicly state that when you screw up, you need to be punished. To NOT whine about it but to accept it, admit the error and just move on. PRICELESS! That is exactly the role model I want for my kids.

Hey Michigan

Did you see this?

Apparently the Brady Bunch is giving marching orders to Carl Levin D-eerintheheadlights, MI.

Now could be a real good time to write him and ask him to stop mucking about with our constitutional rights. I think I'll write him myself, even though my actual rep is Stabacow who isn't any better.

It's ALL About Safety Kids

Hecate's Crossroads has an excellent post up right now about the tragic consequences of failing to follow Col. Cooper's rules of gun safety.

You ignore those rules at your peril. And the peril of those around you.

UPDATES

Ok, first off, for reasons no one is real sure of, the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners removed that item from their agenda. The letters, phone calls and e mails can continue though. Remember to be polite but firm when you inform them that they do not have your support for this measure.

Second off, When this broke out, I fired an e mail off to David Codrea at The War On Guns and he jumped in to support. I want to say a very public thank you to him and all of his readers who jumped down the throats of the weasels we're dealing with here.

Now, think of this. The Obamessiah made his "bones" as a community organizer. Could his people be behind this somehow? Where did this idea come from? You had all better keep a very close eye on your city and county elected officials. Think of this as a warning. This move is the polar opposite of what's been happening in Illinois lately with counties passing resolutions supporting the 2nd Amendment.

Think about it. Where is the Obamessiah from? Illinois. Do you think he sat there totally blind and stupid? Hell no, he took notes to see what works.

Gun Rights

OK, we have to move fast on this because it's happening tonight in Marshall, MI.

The Calhoun County Board of Commissioners is planning a vote on an Anti-Assault Weapon measure. They didn't give any warning on this at all. I believe it's probably backed and supported by "community organizer" BHO. Here's what they want to do:

On Thursday, February 5th, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the County
Building at 315 West Green Street in Marshall, MI in the County
Commissioners Chambers on the third floor, the following resolution
will be voted on:

Calhoun County Commission

Agenda Item 12.A. (5) for 2/5/09

<>
WHEREAS, present levels of gun violence in the United States are
far higher than in nations which regulate gun purchases more
stringently,

NOW, THEREFORE, the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners support:

(1) The renewal of the ban on sale or purchase of assault
weapons (making the ban permanent); and

(2) The enactment of laws at all levels of government to
make it harder for those with diminished mental capacity or
criminal intent firearms either legally or illegally.

OK kiddies, let's get as many gun rights advocates as we can to get in there and tell them that we will not back up, not one more inch. Not one more stupid useless law. The line is here.

Oh Hell No

Since I have a couple of readers now, I think this might be a good time for one of those "what would you do?" kinda posts.

First, go read this.

Then..comment, what would you do?

You REALLY want to go read this

If you love to shoot as much as I do, you'll be aware that sometimes you can feel stuff hitting your face when you shoot. Most of the time, it's not quite burnt powder granules, but once in a while, something a bit more substantial comes back at you.

If you're not wearing a good pair of shooting glasses, you should be. Brigid has a wonderful post up about it and here's the link.

Go read, the maker only provided you with one pair of eyeballs, please protect them.

Help a Blogger Out

This is going to be different but here goes.

I have been invited to join the group of milbloggers that are inviting people to learn more about the National Museum of Americans in Wartime. I have a link on the side bar and if I can get a bunch of people to go over there and look at it and then think it's cool enough to join, then I might get invited to join some other great milbloggers like Blackfive, down at Blackwater for a day.

What am I asking you to do?

Head on over and check it out, if you think it's as cool as I do, then join. That's all.

Thank you all in advance for helping out a project that is well worth the effort.
