I Have to Apologise

To all of my loyal readers using a browser other than Firefox. IE and AOL: browsers are showing the links on the bottom of the page instead of on the sidebar where I want them. This will continue until I figure out how to fix it. For anyone that wants to make a suggestion, everything below the "Screw McCain-Feingold logo is at the bottom.

*** UPDATE ***

I added a button to the sidebar so you can go right over and get Firefox2. Trust me, this blows IE right out of the water. Go get it. I'm sure that you'll love it.

I cannot keep silent

This is just so entirely stupid that I have to comment. First, I will copy and paste the entire article below then go point by point.

Desperation is not good planning

October 16, 2006

By Ken Schram

SEATTLE - Desperation is not good planning.

Students in a school district outside Fort Worth, Texas are being told they should fight back if and when an armed intruder shows up in the classroom.

The Burleson School District has hired a British Army Major to instruct kids - and teachers - on how they should throw books and anything else they can get their hands on.

The program is called "Response Options" and involves kids and teachers attacking an armed intruder as soon as he enters their classroom.

They're told to run at the gunman, grab him by the legs, stab him with pens and pencils, throw stuff at his head, and scream the whole time.

This is lunacy.

I don't care how frightened or concerned parents are about the kind of school violence we've seen. This is not an answer.

I don't care if it's in Burleson, Texas or Bellevue, Washington, this is nuts.

If this is the best that adults can come up with to protect kids from the type of violence we saw in Pennsylvania last week; if telling little Tiffany or Ryan to tackle some 200 pound animal who's armed with a semi-automatic pistol or rifle is considered anything other than stupid, senseless desperation, then this country is in far worse trouble than any of us can possibly imagine.

Let the games begin.

Yes, the students are being taught to fight back. You possibly believe that they should just allow themselves to be herded into a cafeteria like good little sheeple and slaughtered? Oh wait, I know, they should sit and wait for the police to save them. Well, you wait for Superman to fly in and save you, I'm gonna fight. I may die, but Joe Scumbag will be following me shortly.

Having met some British Army types, I'd say the Major was a good choice. Anything can be a weapon. Use it.

I want to point out that the program is called Response Options. The key word here is options. You always want some options. If an armed intruder walks into the room, hell yeah, hit him with everything available.

It's lunacy to sit quietly and wait to die, that's nuts. America was not founded by people who were willing to let themselves be herded and I think it's unpardonable to teach our kids to be herded. These kids are the future leaders, we cannot teach them to just roll over for some idiot.

The final paragraph is the one I find most amusing. I shall copy and paste it here:

If this is the best that adults can come up with to protect kids from the type of violence we saw in Pennsylvania last week; if telling little Tiffany or Ryan to tackle some 200 pound animal who's armed with a semi-automatic pistol or rifle is considered anything other than stupid, senseless desperation, then this country is in far worse trouble than any of us can possibly imagine

Well, the best that idiots like you have come up with so far has been Gun Free School Zones and I think we can all see how well that is working. The stupid senseless desperation occurs when the plans that have been not working up to now fail...............again.

I Just Don't Understand

Why we continue to tolerate the rantings of Kim Jong Il. This guy is pissing all over the Useless Nitwits and their Security Council resolutions and planning to detonate another nuke in the process. He continues to claim that the resolution is a declaration of war and that New York and Tokyo will "be blazed".

Why do we allow him to threaten like that? He's pretty damn lucky that the current administration in Washington is spineless. Anyone with any balls would have dropped a nuke on Pyongyang already. When a rabid dog goes through your neighborhood, you shoot it. I'm gonna link to Blackfive because the photoshop job there is funny as hell, but the news is all over the place.

I don't think we should just stand around with our thumbs inserted while this nutball develops a nuclear weapons system. He's threatened to use it too often.

Here's a Salute to a True Hero

Just bumped into this article about a British Paratrooper (Medic) who risked his life under fire to save a couple wounded Americans in Afganistan.

Major Will Pike, the commander of A Company, described the soldier's actions as "massively impressive". He added: "He was very brave while completely disregarding his own safety. He also treated the American soldier beyond the level that as team medic he is expected to perform. We have a lot of private soldiers who are very young and just out of training but have proved very steady under fire."

To earn the VC soldiers have to display conspicuous bravery or daring or perform a prominent "act of valour or self-sacrifice in the face of the enemy".

An MoD spokesman said: "We can confirm Pte McKinley provided medical treatment to a US soldier whilst under sustained attack."

Just too Damn Funny

I was glancing through FARK and saw this. It was just too funny not to post here.

School Shootings

These are really tragic events that always cause a stir. It's horrible when the defenseless get killed. It's even worse when they get herded into one area and killed in job lots in an environment where they are supposedly safe. This "Gun Free School Zone" shit has to stop. How many more have to die before someone wakes up and realizes that it's not working?

Go read this article in full. I'm gonna copy and paste a bit of it to put my comments here. I want you to go read and make up your own mind.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Oct. 13 /Standard Newswire/ -- The school shootings that have occurred in recent weeks are evidence that not enough has been done by administrators and teachers since Columbine to prevent such tragedies, says a Purdue University expert in school and workplace violence.

Ya think? How much taxpayer money did you spend on that research Einstien?

"What troubles me is that since Columbine, I've seen very little new in the way schools are protected or in the way teachers and administrators handle students who may be a risk," Capozzoli says. "School shootings do not take place in a vacuum, and in all the instances in the last few weeks, someone knew what might take place."

The teachers and administrators won't have a whole hell of alot of information unless they get it from another student who hears something. With the peer-pressure of not being a rat still pretty prevalent, they're probably not gonna get it there. These teachers and administrators are way too busy with their social engineering projects to teach the 3 R's anymore. You really think they're gonna notice a student acting strangely?

He says in the Oct. 3 shooting, where a 32-year-old man entered a one-room Amish school in Nickel Mines, Pa., killing five girls and himself, there may have been little school staff could have done. But in the other recent instances, he says schools officials could have done a better job in keeping intruders out.

Capozzoli says the shooting at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colo., is one example in which more could and should have been done. On Sept. 26, a man held six students hostage and then shot and killed a 16-year-old girl and himself.

Of course there was little the staff could have done, it's a gun-free school zone you idiot. Oh wait, that didn't work real well, did it? Platte Canyon? Yeah, more could have been done. A .45 ACP to the head stops school shootings damn quick.

Capozzoli says just as important is training administrators, teachers and students to be aware of and report situations that seem out of the ordinary.

Of course, marksmanship training would work real well too.

Read the rest of this for yourself. Keep this in mind while you do...There is a big terrorist problem in Israel. Terrorists used to go into schools and kill lots of children. Wanna know how the Israelies stopped it? Armed teachers. In I believe it's either Thailand or Cambodia, terrorists used to go into schools and kill teachers and kids. Guess what? Armed teachers stopped the problem. You probably see where I'm going with this. Maybe it's not terrorists persay, but armed teachers can stop a nutjob as effectively as they can a terrorist with a well placed Mozambique drill.

How many more have to be herded into a school cafeteria to be slaughtered before you wake up and see the answer? Stop talking about it and just allow the teachers their Second Amendment rights in and out of the classroom. Our kids are supposed to be safe in school.

Dictator? Here? Maybe

I was attracted to this post while reading KABA. It's a very interesting and informative look at the 2nd
Amendment. I think you should look it over and then do the right thing, which is go out and begin to exercise your rights under the 2nd Amendment.

I want you to always remember this. The Constitution of the United States gives nothing. It serves to protect that which is ours naturally by benefit of being a citizen.

When I joined the Navy back in 1981, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Just because I got out in 1985 doesn't mean that oath went away. It's in full force and effect until I pass from this world.

Link Revision

I changed a link and added one. I changed out the Augean Stables for an old friend. The SFAlphaGeek has been redeployed and is blogging again. I like the Augean Stables, but I think it's more important to have a link to some "boots in the sand" so to speak. I linked to SFAlphaGeek before and his is always a good read. Do run over and show him lots of love and support. His blog is titled Nothing to See Here, Move Along.

The new link will take you to M1911.org and his blog. Some nice stories and opinion. Take some time and surf the entire site, there's lots of good information there.

I hope you enjoy the new links and if you want to suggest one...please do. I read a blog for a few weeks before I add them, so it's not instant, but I will investigate any suggestions you might make.

Hey, go look at this

Kevin over at the Smallest Minority has a couple great entries up. I can't say anything other than Go Kevin!. Go read.

I have just about had enough

Of these asshat Muslims demanding we follow their religion. Fuck them, hard and long. You're probably real shocked by that outburst so take a moment and read the article that brought it on here.

Piss on you, you camel humping neandrethal. No one forced you to move here. We occasionally transport alcoholic beverages home to consume. No one here cares that your religion forbids the transport of alcohol. You chose a job in the transportation industry, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TRANSPORT!!

A driver named Fuad Omar explained: "This is our religion. We could be punished in the afterlife if we agree to [transport alcohol]. This is a Koran issue. This came from heaven." Another driver, Muhamed Mursal, echoed his words: "It is forbidden in Islam to carry alcohol."

Big fuckin deal, I have a newsflash for you asshole, this is NOT an Islamic nation.

MAC has consulted on the taxi issue with the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society, an organization the Chicago Tribune has established is devoted to turning the United States into a country run be Islamic law.

Wonderful, a new orginization that wants to turn America into another nation that follows the pedophile prophet. I'm beginning to think there are alot more domestic enemies than foreign. Maybe they should just go down to the local CAIR office, I'm sure they have plenty in common and if we watch carefully, we'll know who to shoot first when the shit hits the fan.

This kind of shit is just unacceptable. If you don't like the way we do things in America, just GTFO!

I apologise

I guess I'm just a bit dumber than I thought and I had no way of knowing that some very kind souls have left some nice comments on a couple of my posts. Thank you for the comments. I really needed to know someone was actually reading this.

I apologise for taking so long to figure out that your comments were there and being able to get to them. I think I have that fixed now. Learning how to use this site is not a simple task for me as I don't do HTML so I have to experiment with everything I do. I may switch to the Beta.

If you happen to have the Beta, would you be so kind as to leave me a comment about rather or not you like it and is it worth it to switch? I would appreciate it.

This Does Make One Wonder

I'm not real big on stuff like conspiracy theories and the Guvmint planned 9/11 and all that stuff, but apparently, some folks are. I happened to see a link to this site on Fark so I checked it out. Now I have to admit that my first reaction was, what a bunch of paranoid crackpots. But I spent a bit of time on the site, and I read this particular article carefully.

I have to admit that after reading this article, I do have a kinda hmmmmmmm reaction. Let's go with a couple questions here, just for fun. How much of what's going on in our government are we actually informed of? Can we say, for a fact, that this is absolutely untrue? What will we do if it is true? Is there any way to prove or disprove these statements?

My answer... I just don't know. Let's look at a couple things that I am pretty sure of though.

One is forced to admit that converting America into a police state would certainly solidify the power of those in Government. We do know that there are a bunch of them that love that power and would do anything to hold onto it. Just how long has Ted Kennedy been a Senator anyway? Can you say term limits?

One is also forced to admit that our elected officials do hold secrets that are not shared with the people. This is supposed to be our government, by rights, there should be no secrets held from we the people. How can we determine these secrets? We can't as long as they are held as a "National Security" item. Until they are declassified and subject to a Freedom of Information act request and it could be decades before any of these secrets are de-classified. So much for rapid action.

We have to admit that America is a bit less free here lately. This type of trend could continue indefinately as long as the powers that be are subtle about it. Whittle away our freedoms in the name of safety or security and alot of folks AKA sheeple, will just say OK and let it happen. Those of us that don't want to let it happen are often labelled as nuts or radicals and ignored, ridiculed, or worse. Could we be headed down this road? I'm just not sure, but what to do if we are?

I said earlier in this little missive, that I'm not a big believer in the whole black helicopter thing, but one should wonder if maybe, just maybe, buried deep inside all the tin foil hat rantings, there could be a shred of actual fact. If there is, we may have something to fear after all. If not, have we lost anything by preparing for a scenario such as this? I think not. I wouldn't go all crazy about it or get real public with it, but a bit of subtle preparation may not hurt. Coupled with a healthy distrust and close watch of the activities of our Government.

America has forgotten that the Government is supposed to fear the people, not the people fearing the Government. The Government of this Republic is supposed to BE the people. I think it might be worth our collective time and effort to remind our elected officials of that fact.

I am SO Jealous

If you love guns as much as I do, you really need to go over to the Anarchangel and take a look at this absolutely gorgeous 1911 owned by Chris Byrne. I want one, any donations? HA HA.

Attention ALL Supporters of our Troops

Go and read this very important post at Blackfive and do what you can.

This time, Freddie's gone too far

I'm thinking that it may be about time to deal with this asshole Fred Phelps. I was pretty offended when he started his protest bullshit at dead servicemen's funerals. THIS however, just goes too fuckin far. Emperor Misha wants a bullet to the head for this assclown. I have to say that I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but I wonder if we should gather a shitload of people to run down to his church, the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS and start holding protests of his services every Sunday? Of course, the danger of something like this is that someone could get a little overzealous and do something silly, like burn the church down. Not that I would suggest that someone do that, but I wouldn't cry over it either. Wanna borrow my lighter?

I have to admit, I'm really shocked that there hasn't been any violence at one of these outbreaks of asshattery. I have to applaud the counter protesters who have been very peaceful about it so far. I think so far may be coming to an end. This idiot and his hate church is really pushing the edge of tolerance here.

Would I like to see someone run Freddie and his hate cult down with a bus? Yep. Would I think it was even funnier if the bus driver happened to be gay? Oh Hell Yeah! Would I do it myself? Nope. He's not worth it to me. I think there may be a bigger problem though.

Isn't there some kind of a Baptist Head council? Isn't there a Baptist version of the Vatican? Some big baptist head cheese out there somewhere? Why aren't these people getting out there saying the Freddie boy in no way shape or form represents the Baptist church? Kinda makes me wonder. I think I may have to do some Google.

I linked up to the Rott but you may also want to read the treatment at Stop the ACLU
