It would appear that I have been linked by another blog. I was going over some of my sitemeter stats and I found traffic coming from a blog called Coordinated Illumination so I went over to see what was what. Any blog that has a beautiful photograph of the USS New Jersey up top gets an automatic nod from me, so go take a look.

Still Trying

Well, I wrote my Congresscritter today and asked him to stay out of healthcare. Too bad he's a socialist. I wonder if they fully understand the stakes involved here? You see, there are many out there who believe that a civil war is looming on the horizon. Indeed, while I still fervently pray I will never see such a horror in my lifetime, I am afraid that I too hear the beating of the war drums in the distance.

I know that many believe that the final trigger will be a gun control related issue. That the government will have the BATFEieio go just a touch too far. I believe that the trigger is going to be healthcare. You see, people seem to have forgotten that one of the provisions of obambicare is that all citizens....excuse me, subjects, WILL purchase healthcare as provided by the regime. No matter that this violates ALL of the founding documents of this country, you will do it if you know what's good for you and if you don't, then they fine you. If you don't pay the fine, it's 5 years in prison.

Let's look at that final statement one more time. If you don't buy their healthcare and you don't pay the fine, you go to prison. Take a moment and digest that folks because that will be the trigger point on the next civil war.

Imagine will you? It's 2 AM and you're all snug in your bed when suddenly, the door explodes inwards and government thugs enter to take you off to the gulag because you haven't paid your fines for refusing to purchase the blatantly unconstitutional mandated healthcare. Do you really think that every person they try this on is going to go without putting up a fight? What exactly do you think is going to happen when the thugs kick in someone's door and exterminate the family dog in the kitchen? It's 2 AM, you were just sleeping. How many of you, out of pure reflex, are going to go for the handgun on the nightstand? Since these thugs usually wear black and conceal their faces behind masks, how many of you are going to be able to identify them in time to stop yourself from blowing their jackbooted asses straight to hell? Can you say instant firefight?

Now wait just one minute more and picture this in your mind if you will. How many of you are going to be sitting there waiting for them? After the first few arrests, how many people do they think they're actually going to take by surprise? How long do you think it will be before this really and truly descends to a true civil war with all of it's attendant bloodshed and horror? Is this both gloomy and horrifying? You better damn well bet it is. It won't get too much more horrifying than this.

We still have a chance to stop this madness from becoming more than something to worry about. Stay on your elected officials. Don't let them forget for a second that this nation is supposed to be governed by We the People and We the People are really tired of the crap that's happening in Washington DC. Never stop, never rest because I fear that the very fate of our Republic is in grave danger and the final kill shot to liberty will not be the bang of a government thug's weapon being fired at a citizen, but the silence of those that lacked the courage to speak.

Merry Christmas

A Christmas Poem for All Americans

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.

Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree, I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.

A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!"
"Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"

For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts,
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light,
Then he sighed and he said, "It's really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."

"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.

My dad stood his watch in the jungles of 'Nam,
And now it's my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile."

Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white and blue. . . an American flag.
"I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home,
I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother
who stand at the front against any and all,
to ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.
So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."

"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son"
Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone.
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled
is payment enough, and with that we will trust.
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

So, it's the Winter Solstice, I hope it's a happy one for those who follow that path. In fact, no matter what spiritual path you follow, I wish joy and happiness to you and your family for this Christmas Season. If you must travel, arrive and return in safety and with a minimum of stress.

Play it again Sam

Suck it Army

Navy has won a service academy-record 15 consecutive games against Army and Air Force. Its last loss to a service academy was against the Falcons in 2002.

The Mids are one win shy of tying their single-season record (1905, 2004), but this one wasn't a rout like so many of Navy's wins in the series this decade. The Mids outscored the Black Knights 78-3 the last two years, including a 34-0 victory last season. H/T Fox Sports

Read and Ponder

I keep hearing the jugheads in government denying that we are a nation at war with radical Islam. While reading today, I found a little something that disputes that pretty clearly. Well, perhaps we are not a nation at war with radical Islam, but they are sure as hell at war with us and have been for 35 years or so. READ.

Veteran's Day

I wish a happy Veteran's Day to all of my brothers and sisters Past, Present and Future.

I like This

I also think it serves as a warning to those who are abusing their power right now.

Everyone who reads this knows that I'm a Sci-Fi buff and I've been watching Babylon 5 again. There is a statement that is uttered by Narn Ambassador G'Kar after the Narn surrender to the Centauri. I think it's a perfect message to send to Washington right now.

No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power, governments and tyrants and armies can not stand.

WOOOHOOOO Go Ford

Just spotted this and thought you'd be interested.

Ford, the only Detroit automaker to dodge direct government aid and bankruptcy court, surprised investors with net income of nearly $1 billion in the third quarter and forecast a "solidly profitable" 2011.

The automaker said Monday earnings were fueled by U.S. market share gains, cost cuts and the Cash for Clunkers program, which drew flocks of buyers to showrooms this summer. Ford's shares rose 68 cents, or 9.8 percent, to $7.68 in morning trading.

That's why I only buy Ford.

Frightning

I received an e mail this morning from Jim (Uncle Jimbo) Hanson who is the communications director for the Warrior Legacy Foundation. It pointed me to a clip for a film called 33 Minutes. The experts say, that a land based ballistic missile, launched at the United States, will take about 30-33 minutes to reach it's target unless intercepted.

I think we all know that one of the things that pResident JugEars has accomplished during his term in office thus far, has been to effectively neuter the ballistic missile defense capability of the United States. I urge you to watch this trailer and then write the letters and make the phone calls because more and more nations on this earth are developing and testing ballistic missile platforms and some of them wouldn't mind using them to blow up a large chunk of our Republic.

Good Read

I found an article entitled We the People over at Brigid's blog. What she wrote is so excellent, I have to give you a link. GO READ NOW!

"Obamaween"

I heard this earlier on Rush...I just heard it mentioned again on Hannity. Let's celebrate "Obamaween" this year instead of the regular Halloween.

Rush's plan: When the kids come to your door, you take candy from them and tell then that Obama would want that given to less privileged children.

Hannity's Plan: Take candy out of it's wrapper and replace it with a note stating that the candy has been given to less fortunate people in accordance with Obama's plan to make everyone equal.

Ya know what? I'm really tempted to do this. Since Obama is deliberately targeting kids with his message, perhaps we should take this opportunity to give those kids an object lesson in exactly what Obama's plan will mean.

I Almost Forgot

This has been such a bad week for me that I almost forgot the anniversary of one of the events in my life that formed some of my opinions concerning people of an Arabic heritage.

I owe 241 of them a bullet.

I was stationed on the USS Puget Sound AD-38 which was the 6th fleet flagship at the time. Only a few weeks before this, we had been anchored off the Lebanese coast and had fed many of these folks on our messdecks and made sure they had showers and medical care if needed.

Answer from Tim Walberg

He took the time to send me this answer:

Thank you for your email and questions. I served 16 years in the Michigan House of Representatives and two years in the U.S. House of Representatives, and during all of these nears, I never cast a vote against the Second Amendment. I believe (and my record proves) that the Second Amendment is a Constitutional mandate, not a personal opinion. In the Michigan House, I fought early and often to pass a concealed carry law that simply affirmed the Michigan and Federal Constitution…no more, no less. This freedom should apply to any weapon used legally, and illegal use of a firearm should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I believe our present concealed carry law goes way beyond our second amendment liberties. During my campaigns, organizations such as the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, SAFER, and others have endorsed me.

Regarding your questions, I believe the Constitution and Bill of Rights are the supreme law of the land. For the Second Amendment specifically, it states plainly and clearly, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, and this is a private right, as Madison wrote in the Federalist papers. That is my standard for all questions regarding the Second Amendment, and my record demonstrates my firm commitment.

Best,

Tim

Fall

As much as I'd love to stay in full denial mode, summer is over and fall has arrived. Slowly the days have gotten shorter and the nights, much cooler. I, among probably many others in the northern tier states, have been forced to turn the damn furnace on.

Those who read this blog regularly know that in the spring, I usually post something about severe weather safety. I decided to hit a few things on that vein now because when fall ends, winter will arrive and with it, snow, ice and other yucky stuff that I would love to move to Arizona or Texas to avoid.

Have the coolant in your vehicle checked. Make sure it will stand up to the abuses of temperature that winter will bring.

Check the tread on your tires. Are they going to be able to get you through the slush?

Get out your WD-40 and spray a bit into each of your door locks. This helps prevent them from freezing up because you know that your door locks will only freeze up when it's 0dark30 in a bad neighborhood and your 1911 is locked in the center console and it's probably freezing rain too.

For those of you with power door locks...how's your vehicle's battery? You going to come out from the hockey game to find a dead battery? Is your alternator charging properly?

Do you carry a blanket and some non perishable food in your vehicle? Start.

Could you build a small fire? Make sure

How about an extra warm coat and some of those Carhart style insulated bibs?

Check your jack and your spare. Everything copacetic? It better be because nothing ever goes wrong in a decent neighborhood with good light.

Fresh batteries in the flashlight?

Just a few thoughts for you. Take care of the little stuff now and stuff that happens later won't be such big things. A little thought and prevention now saves time and frustration later.

May all of you travel safely wherever the road of life may take you.

Speaking of Elections

This blog has decided to support Mike Cox for Governor of the State of Michigan. His campaign site is here.

If you live in Michigan, please support Mike, he's done a hell of a job in protecting our 2nd Amendment rights all over the country as well as expanding the list of states with which Michigan enjoys concealed carry reciprocity to 31 states and counting.

So Silly

Would you believe that it just occurred to me this morning that someone named Tim Walberg is running against Mark Schauer for congress? I must be a little lower on caffeine than I thought.

Well, to correct this deficiency, I just sent David Codrea's questionnaire to him. I hope I get a faster response from him than I have from Schauer so far.

Excuse Me?

I was reading David Codrea's War on Guns, which I do every day (and you should to). There is an article there that I have been pondering for the past couple of days, not too difficult since it was written Wednesday. This article addresses a recent "investigation" that was conducted by the City of New York and it's Mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

Apparently, the focus of this "investigation" was the ability of "straw purchasers" to purchase weapons at gun shows. Now, those of you who read this who may lean a little left may not see a problem with this, after all, if there's a problem, shouldn't we identify and correct it? On the surface, you may be correct, but look a bit deeper.

These "investigations" are not being conducted in New York City. They were conducted in Ohio, Tennessee and Nevada. This leads me to ask one important question.

Where exactly does the City of New York derive the legal or moral authority to conduct a criminal investigation outside the city limits of New York proper? To the best of my knowledge, their assistance has not been requested. They hold no jurisdiction outside New York City. They have no Federal authority. They have no arrest powers. They have exactly nothing, other than the support of a man who would happily see your guns confiscated.

I wonder if now could be a good time to flood your elected officials with complaints about this man's conduct.

Candidate Questions

So, I took a page out of David Codrea's book and e mailed his list of pertinent 2nd Amendment questions to Mark Walberg, who is running for Congress against Mark Schauer, here in Michigan. I will post his answers when I get them. I'll also post the questions, which came from David Codrea, so that you can send them to your candidates.

1. Do you believe that the Constitution is the "supreme law of the land" and that the Bill of Rights acknowledges our birthrights?

2. If so, should these rights be proactively protected from infringement by all levels of government, including city, county and state?

3. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider constitutional.

4. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider unconstitutional.

5. Does the right to bear arms include the right for any peaceable citizen to carry them concealed without a permit, as in Vermont?

6. Do you believe that Americans have a right to own, use and carry weapons of military pattern, and will you use the prestige of elected office to publicly promote that right?

7. Do you support or oppose registration of weapons? Why?

8. Do you support or oppose licensing requirements to own or carry firearms?
Why?

9. What specific gun laws will you work to get repealed?

10. If elected, will you back your words of support for firearms rights up with consistent actions? How?

Thanks to David Codrea for thinking this up. It's about time we started finding out what the people running for office really think.

Just When You Thought The Web Was Safe

Look what I found at the Anti Idiotarian Rottweiler

I can't wait.

Sigh

I become weary and more than mildly frightened while reading the news these days. I'm an amateur historian and I can recall reading the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and feeling chills at the wisdom of these founding documents. Reading the histories and realizing what these great men risked to do what they did to create the greatest nation this planet has ever known.

Now, I feel very much like sobbing as I realize that our current government is destroying all of that while risking almost nothing because the American Patriot is asleep or unconcerned. I believe it was Patrick Henry that said "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance", we seem to have forgotten to remain vigilant, lulled to sleep by the Whores of the Potomac and their media pimps feeding us their "everything is under control" pablum. We can't even see what's happening right in front of our faces.

An organization called the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) which has nothing to do at all with poverty and damn little to do with law, is actually working with the Department of Homeland Security to brand anyone that questions the course of government as a domestic terrorist. FUCKING WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you are a veteran, you're a terrorist. If you own a gun, you're a terrorist. If you attend your local church or synagogue, you're a terrorist. If you question anything the government is doing or speak out about what you might think is wrong, you're a terrorist. You care to explain to me what's wrong with this picture? Do you realize that according to the guidelines published by SPLC and DHS that the founding fathers were terrorists?

An election approaches. You have a responsibility to find out what each candidate for office believes and stands for. YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY to find the truth for yourself about the people who seek office. Start your research right now! RIGHT GODDAMN NOW! Contact them, ask them the tough questions. Take not the counsel of the Whores of the Potomac or their media pimps. Do not listen to the bullshit about experience instead, look at where that experience has gotten us. You may want change, I want a clean house (and senate). It's time to throw a dose of bleach into the political pool. It's time to find some true patriots to elect to public office, people who have read and understand the founding documents and respect them as the ultimate law of this nation.

Do not fail in this charge. There are but 4 boxes to defend liberty, the soapbox, the ballot box, the jury box and the bullet box, pray let us never need the 4th box, but I fear that we will use it and probably within my lifetime, if the American Patriot does not awaken and regain control.

Added to the Not Good List

I spotted this at the USNI Blog and I'm going to risk angering my female readers by showing my dinosaur. This is an article from Navy Times and I'll link to the article here.

Apparently, CNO Adm. Gary Roughead thinks it's time to place female sailors on submarines.

I say that this is a galactically stupid idea. Subs: Small crews, very close quarters, hot-racking, when work needs to be done, it's of an urgent nature that can involve extremely heavy work. Let's not get the ex-Damage Controlman started on how heavy and nasty that work can be. I shall allow it to be left at...I doubt a 100 lb female is going to carry a 200 lb unconscious sailor out of an escape scuttle.

There are some jobs that women can do better, they're better welders, properly trained, they're better precision shooters because the have steadier hands. but the day to day life on a sub isn't like that. 6 to 8 months out at sea? Young, lonely horny people together in close quarters = bad fucking idea. Go over to hulu.com and watch the series Carrier and you get an idea of what goes on aboard surface ships, now transpose that to a sub where the passageways are so tight that rubbing up against one another is almost mandatory and you get an idea how ludicrous this idea is.

No, I'm sorry, but I say no. Bad, bad idea.

The dinosaur has spoken.

Just thinking

(dry your eyes)
(dry your eyes)
(dry your eyes)
(dry your eyes)
(dry your eyes)

Dry your eyes and quietly bear this pain with pride
For heaven shall remember the silent and the brave
And promise me they will never see, the fear within our eyes
(my eyes are closed)
We will give strength to those who still remain

So bury fear, for fate draws near
And hide the signs of pain
With noble acts, the bravest souls
Endure the heart's remains
Discard regret, that in this debt
A better world is made
That children of a newer day might remember
And avoid our fate

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be your light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winterborn
Without denying, a faith is come
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

Hold your head up high-for there is no greater love
Think of the faces of the people you defend
(you defend)
And promise me, they will never see the tears within our eyes
(my eyes are closed)
Although we are men, with mortal sins, angels never cry

So bury fear, for fate draws near
And hide the signs of pain
With noble acts, the bravest souls
Endure the heart's remains
Discard regret, that in this debt
A better world is made
That children of a newer day might remember
And avoid our fate

(prepare for battle)

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be your light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winterborn
Without denying, a faith in God
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

And in the fury of this darkest hour
I will be your light
A lifetime for this destiny
For I am Winterborn
And in this moment..I will not run
It is my place to stand
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands
(bloodied hands)

And in our dying
We're more alive, than we have ever been
I've lived for these few seconds
For I am Winter-born

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be the light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winter born
Without denying, a faith in man
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

Within this moment
I am for you, though better men have failed
I will give my life for love
For I am Winter-born

And in my dying
I'm more alive than I have ever been
I will make this sacrifice
For I am winterborn

Sorry folks, I'm just not seeing the problem with someone finally calling charades with Obambi. So he got called a liar and everyone wants to crucify the person responsible. Probably the same assholes that thought it was funny when some alleged comedian wished that Rush Limbaugh would die.

The American people have been calling Obambi a liar since day 1. I for one, think it's high time a congress critter finally stepped up and followed suit. Nice job Rep. Maybe too Simple But...

I was on my way home from work this morning listening to my local AM radio station WBCK, which definitely leans right, when the announcer began talking with the weather guy about Michael Vick. I haven't paid much attention to this whole mess, I think the guy is an asshole, but the NFL seems to want him back, whatever.

It struck me as the little byplay went on that the announcer mentioned that it seems like every time a high profile person gets into trouble with the law, they can't apologize for their actions fast enough or "sincerely" enough, but nothing before getting caught. Well of course not silly, the 5th Amendment says you don't have to incriminate yourself.

The more I thought about it though, the more it seems logical to me to just DON'T do it. Think of all the fuss and bother that would be saved by just not doing stupid/illegal things to begin with rather than have to apologize for them.

Recieved In An Email This Morning

I got this from a friend of mine who is forward deployed the Saudi Arabia:

Three strangers strike up a conversation in an airport lounge while waiting for their respective flights ...

One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer, another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East ..

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table, tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face, and lights a cigarette. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane has arrived.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat saying softly,

'At one time my people were many, but sadly, now we are few."

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward,
'Once my people were few,' he sneers, 'and now we are many. Why do you suppose
that is?'

The cowboy removes his cigarette from his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl . .

'I reckon that's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet,
But I do believe it's a-comin'.'

This Should Be Considered A Warning

Not too long ago, I posted a little piece about Dearborn, MI and the Islamic community there. Today, I went off in search of some further information from the group that put the video there together, a Christian group called Acts 17 Apologetics. While on their blog, I discovered this.

It is my hope that you will take the time to read this, watch the embedded video and think on it, then get angry as hell and start doing something to stop this.

While I do admit that I don't often get into religious discussions, I feel that at this time, it's necessary. I do not want to live under Muslim Sharia Law. If I did, I'd move to a Muslim nation. This is the United States of America and I like my country just the way it is supposed to be under the Constitution. This is NOT a Muslim nation and I'll do what I can to keep it from becoming one. Will you?

Think about this, then think about what Nabeel says and shows you in the blog post and the embedded video. Now, think about how, with Islamics starting to move to create a Muslim nation where the USA once stood, how will we stop this? Look how peaceful the Middle East is, you want that here? How will we protect ourselves? Do we really want the Government to be able to shred our Constitution right now?

A Nice Break

I found this little musical interlude posted over at ELP and I thought I would put it over here. I like music and this caliber of music is sorely missed, at least by me and as an extra bonus, there's a little reminder at the end of the days when late night TV was actually funny courtesy of the undisputed KING of late nights, Mr. Johnny Carson.

So, for the non musically challenged among my reader(s) I proudly present, this YouTube clip of the Tonight Show Band featuring Doc Severinsen among others.

Al Gore Cries

From National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids, MI:

Grand Rapids broke the all time record for the coldest July with a mean temperature of 67.1 degrees. This is one tenth of a degree below the previous record coldest July of 67.2 degrees, which occurred in 1992.

Not only was July 2009 the coldest July on record at Grand Rapids, but the highest temperature for the month was 84 degrees, setting a new record for the coldest July monthly maximum temperature. The old record was 85 degrees in 2000.

Fun Day

I decided to get rid of some stress by doing one of my favorite things. Showing my guns some TLC. The smell of Hoppes and spending time fondling the AR and the 1911 is one of those things I find really relaxing. Since I can't find any 45 for recoil therapy right now, this is a pretty good option.

Cool News

I found a couple things over at Blackfive that I think are very worthy of being shared, especially in these stressful times.

Well this is a breath of fresh air. A court in El Paso, TX has been set up sepcifically to deal with returning vets who have gotten themselves into trouble. It is taking into account the effect that combat has had on them and working to provide peer counseling and other ways to keep them from simply going to jail. They do not automatically excuse crimes, but look at the entire picture of each person and if they seem to have been affected by their service they offer help. h/t Dawn Patrol.

A new court that will open in El Paso County next month is designed to provide returning veterans accused of felonies with an alternative to the conventional justice system, which is not always sympathetic to combat-related brain injuries and stress disorders.

"It's based on drug court, where there are immediate consequences, with a lot of heavily supervised probation," said El Paso County District Judge Ron Crowder, a two-star general in the Colorado Army National Guard, a former paratrooper in Vietnam and holder of the Distinguished Service Medal.

Crowder is developing the court with a group that includes mental-health counselors, court administrators and veterans advocates.

I hope this concept catches on and provides another safety net for those who have done the right thing and then been hurt while doing so. We have to work in every part of society to get these folks help not punishment. This is a great piece of that puzzle.

And this, which is a touch long and I think I'll post a link instead of the whole story, but it's a story about winning in the face of adversity which should make you think, your life isn't so bad after all.

How Long Do We Continue To Tolerate This

Take a little peek at this. What we have here is a case of being punished for asking a question of someone intolerant. One thing I will say however is that the person running the video was probably unwise to wear a Christian themed t shirt to a Muslim gathering in Dearborn. Muslims and Christians mixing like, you know, gasoline and matches.

That having been said, the security troops were definitely in the wrong. In Michigan, a Security Guard's authority stops at observe and report. Since the videographer was not being in any way impolite, unprofessional or aggressive, they were committing assault to have any physical contact with him or his camera person.

You can see the uselessness of Dearborn's police department as they took no apparent action to view the video and then start arresting people.

Here's the problem as I see it. America goes way too far out of her way to avoid offending anyone even to the point of becoming offensive to her own citizens. This kind of thing needs to stop.

Now, the group that was doing the filming has a blog here. I will post the video from Dearborn below but it is also on the blog post. The video the group shows definitely supports their version of the story. If the story is true, this is a horrifying example of what the future holds for America unless she finds the testicles she lost over the last 20 years or so.

The question becomes, what exactly do we do about this? Perhaps a few e mails to the Mayor? I looked on the City of Dearborn website http://www.cityofdearborn.org but I was unable to find a link to the City prosecutor. I think perhaps we should e mail Dearborn Mayor John B. O'Reilly Jr (mayor@ci.dearborn.mi.us) and ask him if he plans to have his Police Department pursue assault charges against those "security guards" and send a little message that the First Amendment of the United States Constitution or Article 1 Section 5 of Michigan's Constitution basically "Shall not be infringed".

I also intend to contact the group responsible for the video to attempt to ascertain the content of the pamphlets they were given. Hopefully, there will be an update.

You know, the more I read it, the more I like Michigan's Constitution...there's no BS in it, it's just straight to the point.

*UPDATE 1*

I did e mail the videographer and asked him to pop over for some discussion. I really hope he does, he may have a very interesting opinion on this and I would welcome the discussion.

In my surfing exploits today, one of my regular sites, the Rott, directed me over to IMAO where I found this gem from Steven Crowder.

Palin 2012

Saw this on MSNBC.com.

I do say that I have to disagree with Howard Fineman on this though. I believe that Sarah is quite intelligent. Any issues she had last election were brought about by having to play things McCain's way. On her own, I think the libs will find her very formidable.

She likely has more knowledge of foreign affairs than Obambi does, and she certainly won't be alienating our allies and bowing to Saudi Kings.

Washington "insiders" have put this country where it is now, she has to be better than they are, she doesn't have the ingrained sense of "this is how it's done" to keep on fucking it up like they do.

What we need is...

Some common sense Branch cutter control.

A man with a history of domestic violence was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend with a branch cutter, seriously inuring her early Saturday on the South Side.

Obviously, the proliferation of these assault branch cutters must be stopped. We need to look at ways to close the hardware store loophole that allows these dangerous weapons to be accessed easily. We call for a 5 day waiting period and branch cutter registration to stem the tide of this violence.

May History Never Forget Your Valor

65 years ago today, Allied troops stormed the beaches at Normandy. Approximately 10,000 of them paid the ultimate price for freedom. The survivors are fewer now and getting fewer everyday.

To them I say: May History Never Forget Your Valor.

Speaking of valor, I would like to point out that today is also the 67th anniversary of the Battle of Midway. Today specifically being day 2 and the day where the last air attacks took place claiming the IJN Mikuma. This was also the day that the I-168 topedoed and sank the Destroyer Hammann and heavily damaged the Carrier Yorktown, which would finally sink on the 7th.

Late Again

I just now remembered that it is past time for a little feature that has become a tradition here. The early Summer/supposed to have been done in the Springtime, preparedness post.

Here's a site you might be interested in for basic supplies. Nitro-Pak.com it may sound slightly paranoid to you but take a look around where you live. Jobs are disappearing, taxes are going up, there was just a Jihadist attack in Alabama. You maybe used to laugh, or at least smile and shake your head, at the folks that espouse preparedness but maybe you want to look at this subject again.

It's not just this kind of stuff either, have you checked the batteries in all your flashlights and smoke detectors? Have you tested your weather alert radio? Is your storm shelter up to snuff? Do you have 3 days worth of basic survival supplies on hand in case of a tornado or a flood or a hurricane?

Too many people focus on that thing called TEOTWAWKI, but what about a short term disruption in normal life? Are you ready?

Supreme Court Pick

Well, justices haven't been chosen for judicial excellence in a very long time so why should this one be any different? The primary question about this woman seems to be her stance on the Second Amendment. Now I think that's too narrow a focus, to be honest, I think we need to look at the total package on these Obama appointees. Look at the history of said appointees to date, almost all of them have been tax cheats. Most are radical liberals if not outright socialists. Should we only focus on Second Amendment issues? I think not. I believe that the total package needs to be looked at here.

For all of us who consider ourselves to be Patriots or Oath Keepers or 3%'ers, we have to be alarmed at the people being appointed to power in this regime, err, I mean administration. Are these the domestic enemies we're supposed to be protecting our constitution from? Just how much danger is our Republic in? I don't think this is solely a Second Amendment issue folks, I think this reaches much farther than that. Look at what the Obamessiah has done to the economy already, how about the Auto companies, what about military spending? How about the way he acts? He's insulted most of our allies, he bowed to the King of Saud, he went on a world apology tour. Communist leaders are telling him to stop, what the fuck is wrong with this picture?

The Second Amendment may be the one that protects the others, but even while focused on the rights protected by that amendment, we must be wary of assaults on all the others for I fear if we don't, there won't be a Constitution left for the Second Amendment to protect.

Memorial Day

Monday is a day which causes most veterans to pause and reflect upon the sacrifices of our brothers and sisters for the cause of freedom. It's a day to remember that the sacrifice of a few, in combat, was what created this nation and that all of those who have paid the ultimate price for said freedom have made it last all these decades.

I lift a glass to the memory of absent companions. Whether I knew you or even met you is moot, you served, you are my brother and I hold the memory of your sacrifice dear.

Have an enjoyable Memorial Day in honor of those who made it possible to do so in a free society.

Quick Update

Those who enjoy reading some of the blogs I link to are going to notice a change in the sidebar. Worldwide War Pigs has moved and it's owner Eric Palmer has opened a new log on Word Press. I have therefore, changed the link appropriately.

For a second update, I may be changing jobs in the next week. This isn't going to have any effect on the glacially slow blogging I have been doing to this point, but there may be some new subject matter concerning stupid people.

Since I'm here, I do want you all to wander over to Blackfive and take a look at Laughing Wolf

It's Making Me Think

As I said before, I've been watching Babylon 5 and now it's making me think. If you've seen the series, then you know that There was a war that involved the Shadows and the Vorlons, the Vorlons ask, "Who are you?" the Shadows ask "What do you want?" and it turns me to some introspection. Who am I? and what do I want? A couple of great questions for one to ponder. I will not go into any of my ponderings here as I do not speak very often of personal things.

I am a bit curious about one thing though. What was the last thing that triggered a bout of introspection for you? If it's really personal, I don't expect you to share it, but I'll throw the question out there anyway.

Art Imitates Life?

I have been revisiting the Sci Fi series Babylon 5. I just finished up Disk 2 of Season 3 and I was taking a break when it occurred to me that this series was aired in 1995. I wonder if J. Michael Straczynski might have somehow seen Obama coming?

It's really strange to watch this and see the creeping incrementalism from the formation of "Knight Watch" to promote peace up to the declaration of martial law. Strange...and frightening.

If you haven't watched the entire series, I encourage it, especially now, it's a quick look at art imitating life.

Well, There's Somewhere Else I'm NEVER Going To Go

Las Vegas. Too bad really, I had even thought of moving there once. All that is now nullified by this. A video (H/T KABA) has surfaced showing what appears to be the unnecessary and brutal beating of a National Guard Medic.

As a vet myself, and given the nature of this country and the TSA and the "only ones" mentality that has surfaced among SOME law enforcement personnel, I'll give the benefit of any doubt to the Sgt.

If the Seargent's story proves out to be true, I think any of the officers involved in this should be handcuffed and sent over to the Seargent's home station for a little payback in kind.

Range Report:

Well, today was my reminder on how much I hate Glocks. My company had it’s annual firearms qualifications today (as I write this, yesterday as I post it) and that got topped off by the cleaning process.

You want the truth? Yeah, I shot like shit. You see, the Glock doesn’t fit me. The grip angle places my wrist in a slight downward angle that I dislike. It was cold, it was raining, I was tired, I wanted a fresh cup of coffee and a hot shower and 8 hours of sleep since as I write this, I’m at work.

Now, my biggest issue (like I need any more issues) is this. Why does a company issue a handgun for duty use that you cannot practice with sufficiently to become actually proficient? I get about 45 rounds a year with this damn thing. The other several thousand rounds I fire, come out of a 1911. Whole different feel, whole different manual of arms. Different POI, it’s just a totally different animal. Oh, did I mention that the duty ammo this company gives us is 9mm SWC? I think that should tell you something.

There’s no way, on my best day, that I could hit a Mozambique drill at 25 yards with this stupid thing, hell, it was issued to me brand new, it has less than 150 rounds through it, it’s not even broken in yet. I put 1000 through my 1911 in just the first week I had it.

Then on top of that, like I said, tired, cold and wet and wanting coffee, shower and sleep before work, I was having grip issues, I was trigger slapping. It was just friggin miserable performance on my part.

Now the topper, I have to clean it.

Who was the tiny fingered homo pansy that designed the take down system on this fuckin thing? I can’t hardly get the fucking buttons down, because they’re so small, I can’t get my fingers engaged properly. Twist and turn and pull and push and swear like the sailor I was 25 years ago and I finally get it apart. It took me longer to take it down than it did to actually clean and lube it.

Did I mention how much I hate Glocks yet?

I actually enjoy cleaning my 1911; I even enjoy cleaning my AR. Cleaning a Glock? Fuck Glocks and the gay cross-dressing cocksucker that invented them, that miserable bastard wouldn’t make a pimple on John Moses Browning’s ass. Not even the scent of Hoppe’s could make this better. Come on guys, you all know that the only thing on this planet the smells better than Hoppe’s is Brigid’s kitchen and still, not even that could possibly make me forget the sheer hatred I feel at taking down a fucking Glock.

Thank the Goddess that’s over and done now. It’s all cleaned and lubed up with Brian Enos’ Slide Glide lite and back in the holster. And sitting on the damn desktop because if anyone wants to shoot me, they have to get through 2 other guards with guns, plus 2 military guys with guns AND break down 2 magnetically locked steel doors. I think I might be ready for him by then.

Now since I mentioned it, you have tried Slide Glide haven’t you? My 1911 and AR cycle beautifully. I highly recommend it. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and so far, it does everything Brian says it does.

Random Wrant

Well, April 15th has come and gone and there were Tea Parties all over the country. It was great to see everyone coming together and putting our rights to assembly into practice. It was also a wonderful thing to see how many people around this great Republic actually got off the couch and participated in making their voices heard at all levels of government.

While I was at work, I had a chance to see some of the talking heads at Fox debate this issue and wonder if it was a one time thing or the beginning of a real movement. For me, I hope this is the beginning of a real movement. The people finally waking up and realizing that they run this government and that they give the orders. I admit that most of what I write about here is related specifically to the Second Amendment, but there is so much more about the way our government operates that is just wrong.

It is time, past time indeed, for Americans to get together and tell the government to back off. That the taxes are oppressive, that illegal immigration is a crime and must be stopped, that we don’t want an acknowledged tax cheat to run the IRS and that in fact, we’d be better off without the damn IRS. That BATF should be a small mom and pop store and not a federal agency.

Most importantly, we want the government to stop lying to us. 90% of the weapons in Mexico are 100% Mexico’s problem. America is NOT going to stand for punishing law abiding citizens for another nation’s issues. Deal with your own shit Mexico; we have to rid ourselves of your citizens that are here illegally. We need to stop being so damn nice to people who want us dead. We need to be a hell of a lot less concerned about offending people and start doing what’s actually right for both the people and the nation. Raising taxes on business right now is just stupid. That’s the kind of shit that made them leave to begin with. Spending Trillions of dollars that you don’t actually have on stupid shit doesn’t stimulate anything except heartburn for the poor slobs that have to work their asses off to pay for this bullshit. How about you cut your damn spending down to the absolute minimum while you carefully craft a real plan rather than rush into some silliness that no one even had time to read before they voted on it?

You want to really stimulate the economy? Then get your pork greased fingers out of my fucking wallet and let me spend my money. Back off the taxes and create a business environment that businesses actually want to operate in. When the businesses do better, they grow; when they grow they employ more people, when more people have money they spend it thus creating demand for more products therefore, businesses grow. See how it works? And I don’t even have some stupid fucking degree. If I can see this and you can’t, then you’re just incompetent to hold office and you should resign.

Now I’ll tackle a gun control issue. The issue is simply this, don’t! Don’t even think about it. How can I say this? Simple actually. You see, people on both sides of this issue tend to concentrate on the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. What they tend to forget is that there are 50 individual states out there and most of them have a clause in their state constitution that is at least similar to Michigan’s Article 1 Section 6 which simply states: The people have the right to keep and bear arms for self defense and the defense of the state. How the hell can you even consider a “gun ban” when you have to try to change 51 different Constitutions? Then of course, you would have to assume that several million gun owning patriots are going to let you. I do believe that you may have heard the term Molon Labe before? If you have and you still don’t know what it means, you had better do some quality time with Google and find out.

You banners really should try changing tactics. I have a suggestion for you. Try leaving us alone. Try really hard to just shut up and go sit in the corner and not say anything to piss us off. We’re all Domestic Terrorists ya know…DHS says so. How many times can you poke a dog with a stick before he bites you? How many times can you jump into a Polar Bear cage before you get mauled? What’s it going to take for you to get it? We have a right to our guns which is protected by Constitutional Amendments at both State and Federal levels. You possess no right to “feel” safe. You want to be safe, then you make yourself safe. Stop pissing your pants every time a firecracker pops. Either learn to defend yourself or submit to whatever cruelty life has in store for you and stop whining. You can’t have it both ways.

As for all the newly awakened citizens at the Tea Parties? Find out who your elected weasel is and get in his/her/it’s face and stay there. Don’t stop at one day of protests, we can’t let them forget who’s really in charge around here. It’s your country fellow citizens, take it back!

Happy Ostara

Many of you may scratch your heads at that title, but Easter is the Christian version of the ancient Pagan holiday of Ostara which was a celebration of the coming of Springtime and the beginning of the planting season. It is the time of the year when all which "died" under the cold and snow of winter is reborn to live and bloom again.

I hope you will all take a moment today to reflect upon what this day means to you in a spiritual sense. Regardless of your spiritual path, today represents many wonderful things. Take time to honor them all.

I pray to the Lord and Lady that your new year will be filled with joy and happiness.

Blessed Be to all of my wonderful friends.

I give extra thanks to the lord and lady for each one of you, without you, I would not be who and what I am today and I am so thankful for what each of you has taught me, no matter how trivial it may seem to you, that you took the effort with me is a priceless gift that I will honor to my grave.

Help Wanted

OK folks, here's the quick and dirty.

I have been thinking about doing some of my own reloading for a while now. As much as I love to shoot, it would save me money.

What brings this post about is that in the not too distant past, I acquired 1200 pieces of once fired Lake City 5.56 NATO brass. The deal was too damn good to pass up since it involved my 2nd favorite "F" word. So now, I have this brass all ready to be tumbled and reloaded and I need some sources for solid reliable how to type info.

I'm looking at a single stage Lee set up that runs about $90 at Cabela's since I'm going to be at one in a couple weeks.

So, who can help me find reliable how to type information? What am I going to run into with the primers? I heard there's a trick to working with military brass.

New Cold War?

I'm beginning to think so but this time, the opposition is not Soviet Russia, it's Congress. Shrieker Pelosi (Socialist-PRK) has already announced her plan for nationwide registration.

If you're still reading this, just know that I guess I'm about to become a criminal because I will NOT comply.

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ motherfucker! I will not be pushed any farther.

He Bowed?

I am damn near speechless with rage. So much so, that I'm going to let Breda say it for me.

What kind of Moron did you sheeple elect? He gave DVD's to the British Prime Minister, oh, did we forget to mention that due to electronic coding, they're useless in Great Britain? He gave the Queen of England an IPod? He even let Michelle actually make physical contact? With the Queen of England? Is this some kind of fucking joke? He tells the Fwench that Americans are a little arrogant? Gee ya think Barry? We only saved their surrender-monkey asses in 2 World Wars, I think we may have earned that right where they're concerned.

Let's not wait the 4 years, let's vote this nit wit out of office before America is a bigger laughingstock than it was before he got elected.

Of course, a couple problems with this are that in order to go to hell I would have to believe that there is one in the spiritual sense and I don't but there is one in Michigan and it does indeed freeze.

The other is that dying of an STD requires contracting one and that's just not gonna happen in my current situation. Unless my hand is going somewhere I don't know about, LOL.

American Form of Government

You really need to watch this. All Americans do. This nation has forgotten what it is actually supposed to be.

Tactics

Let's have a little discussion of real world tactics. As we all should be aware, there was recently a shooting in a Burger King in Miami which left the perp dead but the citizen wounded. According to the report in the Miami Herald:

An afternoon shootout at a busy Burger King restaurant in Miami left a potential robber dead and the customer who shot him seriously wounded.

The bloody event unfolded about 4 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant at Northeast 54th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. It was a time, employees said, when it is usually crowded with schoolchildren and people getting out of work early.

The robber entered wearing a ski mask. He approached a clerk, showed his gun and demanded money, said Miami police spokesman Jeff Giordano.

A customer eyed him and the two started arguing. The customer had a concealed-weapons permit and his gun — and the two exchanged gunfire.

The robber crumpled to the floor and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The customer, with several gunshot wounds, was in serious but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Source: Miami Herald

Now the report specifies that the citizen said something to the slime before the shooting began. What I want to discuss is....

Do you order the slime to drop the weapon and surrender? Or, the weapon having been presented, do you just start shooting? Which is tactically correct? Which is legally correct?

I think it goes without saying that the legal part needs to be generalizations as each state will vary, but a baseline to operate on could be generated. I'm going to ask a couple of LEO bloggers to please pop over and weigh in on this. One is in Texas and the Other is in Ohio. *Update* I couldn't get a hold of the Ohio LEO, and I'm hoping Brigid will read this and say something, but with any luck, the comments are gonna go all Tam and Breda on you.

How do I vote? Well, I have to tell you that if I had more readers and was sure that a discussion would be generated, I would reserve comment until a few folk had weighed in. Since I don't generate that much discussion, I tell you that what I'd do is perform a surreptitious draw, set my sights carefully on the target, then double tap it in the chest. Then I'd dial 911. The slime already has announced it's intention to break the law and has presented a deadly weapon with which to back up it's intentions. At that point, what it is thinking is clear and it has now presented a danger to everyone in the immediate vicinity. I believe that any sane person would feel a justifiable amount of fear at this point so legally, you should be covered if your state (Michigan does) allows you to employ lethal force to meet perceived lethal force threats anywhere you have a legal right to be. Burger King would fit that description.

My opinion (as a layman, not an attorney or LEO) is that I would be tactically sound in not announcing my intentions and legally sound in engaging a perceived lethal force threat with lethal force.

Remember not to focus all of your concentration on the slime at the counter. There may be another nearby. Cowards like these often work on pairs or small groups. Continue to be vigilant to your surroundings.
